Real opens
Open rates that count people.
A tracking image tells you it was loaded, not who loaded it. Mailnitrix looks at timing, source and known scanners to separate machine opens from real ones, and keeps both so nothing is hidden.
- Opens within seconds of sending treated as automatic
- Apple Mail privacy prefetches and security scanners filtered
- Gmail image-proxy opens kept as real opens
- Turn tracking off per campaign; warmup is never tracked

FAQ
Analytics questions.
Why are my open rates lower than in other tools?
Probably because we filter machine opens. Apple Mail Privacy Protection, corporate security gateways and link scanners load the tracking image without anyone reading the email. Counting those makes open rates look better than they are.
How do you tell a machine open from a person?
Several signals. Any open within a few seconds of sending is treated as automatic, because nobody reads that fast. Requests from Apple's privacy proxy and known scanners are also counted as machine opens, while Gmail's image proxy, which loads images when the email is actually opened, counts as a real open.
Should I track opens at all?
It's useful, but the tracking image is one more thing a spam filter can look at. For brand-new mailboxes, or when you only care about replies, switch tracking off for that campaign. Warmup emails are never tracked.
If someone opens the same email five times, what do I see?
One opened email with an open count of five. The first open is recorded once and only once, even when several requests arrive at the same moment.
